Our Work

The Crag Law Center is a client-focused law center that supports community efforts to protect and sustain the Pacific Northwest’s natural legacy. Crag’s goal is to support the restoration and protection of the environment by providing a full range of legal services to local citizens, conservation groups, recreation clubs, native peoples and organizations seeking to protect, preserve and restore the environment.

We work to help the community by directly providing professional legal service for free or as close to free as possible.

Crag supports the community to protect your environment as part of helping each organization achieve its own non-profit mission.  For our clients, we seek to enforce the laws that are on the books.  We seek to enforce and uphold the rule of law through this work.

Through our work for clients, the Crag Law Center seeks to secure lasting, on-the-ground conservation victories and elevate the public’s perception of the conservation movement. Crag remains client-focused, which ensures that our work is focused by the issues that matter to local citizens and empowered by strong community outreach, organizing and grassroots support.

In response to the needs of local communities, the Crag Law Center has established three main areas of work:

These three program areas involve a wide range of projects across a variety of landscapes, from the Oregon Coast to the Summit of Mt. Hood, from the rivers of the Willamette Valley to the headwaters of the McKenzie River, and from the forests of the rugged Siskiyous to the high desert benches in the Wenaha river basin.

Through the dedication and hard work of our clients, all three of our program areas continue to expand.
